My thought is to take a track I've already made in Ableton or Reaper, and to apply one of these videos' methods to make a slightly different track. The philosophy I espouse here is to always aim to have a 'finished track' at the end of your session. In this case, starting with an already-made track and making a few modifications. If we do this a few times over, we will gradually morph from the previous track to something new, and hopefully both good to listen to and original.
