The stat command tells you information about a file at the filesystem level.
Some common thing I use:
stat -c "%n -- %s" # name and size, separated by --
stat -c "%w" # creation time
stat -c "%x %y %z" # other times
just running stat file tells you everything in a nicely formatted way.
$ stat google-chrome-stable_current_amd64_2023-03-30.deb
File: google-chrome-stable_current_amd64_2023-03-30.deb
Size: 93863956 Blocks: 183344 IO Block: 4096 regular file
Device: 811h/2065d Inode: 36191876 Links: 1
