So you want to replace one VST in a project with another. This may not be quicker, but it can be done with a text editor. Let's look inside the .rpp file. It looks like a distant cousin of XML. Basically sections begin with < and end in >. The first word after the < is the type of section, e.g. <FXCHAIN.

We can guess that the line BYPASS starts an entry for something in the chain, and WAK ends it. So what happens if we copy and paste everything from the BYPASS line up to the WAK line and put it in another FX chain, after a WAK line? Something you could do is to write a short Python script that dumps all the individual FX instances, together with some metadata.
