I'm gradually moving away from Kubuntu to Debian. Also from X11 to Wayland.
There is a lot in common with my standard setup under Ubuntu which carries over.

## xdotool to ydotool
The `ydotool` utility needs a little setup to get working. Gemini was helpful here,
and the result worked successfully. See YdotoolSetupDebian.
