[XAMPP]() == X [Apache](/aw/web/apache2) [MySQL](/aw/db/mysql) [PHP](/aw/lang/php) [Perl](/aw/lang/perl).
This provides a 'lamp' stack for [Windows](/aw/os/windows), [Macos](/aw/os/macos) and [Linux](/aw/os/linux),
importantly, it gives you a similarly configured environment on each operating system. Personally
I only use Xampp on Windows, and use the apache+mysql+php+perl that comes with my Linux distro.
At home I have an old [Lenovo](/aw/pc/lenovo) [T410](/aw/pc/lenovo/T410Laptop) running [Kubuntu](/aw/os/linux/KubuntuLinux)
(and before that [Xubuntu](/aw/os/linux/XubuntuLinux).
