## Copy Rendered Layer
To copy a **rendered** layer, summarised from [here at askubuntu](https://askubuntu.com/questions/530286/how-to-copy-a-layer-between-images-or-canvas-in-gimp-2-8). But this does not preserve the textual nature of the layer (i.e. you can't edit the text afterwards).

1. Hide all layers you don't want to copy (shift-click will 'solo' a layer).
2. Drag from the source tab to the target tab, until the target image is active, and then, with the button still down, drag into the image and release.

## Copy Text Layer
As above, but drag **the layer from the Layers dockable** to the target image.
